Literacy: The Team

Pastor Gnagbé Firmain

Pastor Firmain is pastor of the local Missionary Baptist Church of Touadji II, Côte d'Ivoire. He has also been working with Csaba Leidenfrost since 1998, serving in the roles of Literacy Supervisor, and Financial Bookkeeper.

Mr. Yépi Babo Alexis

Alexis has worked as Csaba's colleague in the translation endeavor since 1993. Alexis proofreads and edits publications when he is not busy translating.

Mr. Klé Veyra Perez

Perez has worked with Csaba as Literacy Supervisor since 1997. He is a prolific writer and a choral leader in the Harris Church of Touadji II.

Volunteer teachers

Also part of the literacy team are an increasing number of volunteer teachers of Bakwé reading and writing. These teachers receive training and a certificate from the Center for Translation and Literacy in the Bakwé language (CTAB). Refresher courses are held at least once a year for teachers that have already received basic training. Volunteer teachers receive visits from literacy supervisors Pastor Gnagbé Firmain and Klé Perez for help with their teaching challenges.
